About

Jackie Toyama is passionate in film, art and social justice. Her hometown, Long Beach, CA, is where she first gained an appreciation for storytelling, as she learned from her community, deep rooted in culture, history and art.

As a graduate from Chapman University’s Undergraduate Film Production Program, she has been able to learn and apply storytelling into design on various short films. Since then, she has worked on projects for different formats, from designing social media videos to styling photoshoots to being lead person for an indie feature film.

Jackie loves to collaborate in film to achieve the best visual storytelling possible. She has experience working as a PA, Art PA, Set Decorator, Prop Stylist, Art Director and Production Designer, as well as executing and assisting in the construction process of various prop and set builds in independent and commercial projects.

Various projects Jackie has worked on have gone on to film festivals such as the LA Shorts, Burbank International, Florida, Miami Short and San Jose International Short Film Festivals.
